The start of the trip (changing clothes, instructions, boarding and starting paddling down the river) is in the village of Kaštel Žegarski. The part of the route from the village to the mouth of the Krupa in Zrmanja and Visoki buk (10-meter-high waterfall, the highest on Zrmanja) takes an hour and a half, and the waterfall is bypassed by a 5-minute walk. The river trip takes about 4 hours, of which an hour is spent on occasional breaks and swimming. Paddling is not difficult or dangerous in summer; the water is clear and refreshing – a perfect adventure for beginners.
